For this month’s blog post, I wanted to write regarding the safety precautions RGM has been taking to keep you safe—whether you see us virtually, come to the clinic, or we come to you! We have been committed to going the extra mile to keep all involved in the music-making safe (as well as family and staff members).
When working together, the music therapists and intern:
- Wear masks when communicating
- Work in separate office spaces
- Practice physical distancing
- Use air purifiers when meeting
- Frequently wash hands/use hand sanitizer
When working with clients and students, the music therapists and intern:
- Take temperatures of those entering the clinic and use hand sanitizer
- Wear masks at all times, and wear face shields in some situations
- Use an air purifier
- Practice physical distancing, and encourage our friends to keep a healthy distance
- Use non-porous instruments during sessions
- Disinfect each instrument, chair, and material used after session with a Clorox wipe
- Alternate treatment rooms within the clinic space
When visiting home, the music therapists and intern:
- Wear masks throughout entire duration of session
- Take temperatures of those participating in session and use hand sanitizer
- Limit instruments used
- Disinfect instruments and materials used after session
- For personal reasons, some therapists will wear scrubs
When working through TeleHealth services, the music therapists and intern:
- Use a HIPAA compliant services, such as doxy.me
- Wipe down shared computer space with a Clorox wipe after session
We are so happy to be able to provide services and we take every precaution to keep it possible to continue making music!
